Agneepath Scheme for Military Recruitment: The Union Cabinet took a historic decision approving an attractive recruitment scheme for Indian youth to serve in the Armed Forces for which a scheme has been introduced with the name AGNEEPATH. The youth selected under the Agneepath scheme will be categorized as Agniveers. The Armed Forces will be recruiting 46,000 Agniveers this year through this scheme. With the announcement of this Agnipath Scheme, a window of opportunity has been opened for the youths to serve their nation for a period of 4 years. What is Agneepath Scheme?

Agneepath Scheme in Indian Armed Forces is a scheme wherein selected candidates will be enrolled as Agniveers for four years period. On completion of the four-year period, Aginveers will go the society as a disciplined, dynamic, motivated, and skilled workforce for employment in other sectors to pursue their career in the job of their choice. 

Agneepath Scheme is a step that promises radical changes in recruitment for the Indian Armed Forces, the Agneepath scheme would add 46,000 soldiers to the Indian Army, Indian Navy and India Air Force. The Agnipath recruitment scheme is a transformative initiative that will provide a youthful profile to the armed forces. The entry through Agneepath Scheme would be done for a period of 4 years initially. During these 4 years, the recruits would be trained by the armed forces in the skills required. Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar said women will also be inducted into the armed forces under the new scheme. Officials, however, added that the recruitment of women under the scheme will depend on the needs of the respective services.

What is Agniveer?

The youth selected under the Agneepath scheme will be categorized as Agniveers. Agniveers will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment in the Armed Forces after a period of 4 years. The youths falling in the age group of 17.5 years to 23 years (revised upper age limit) who favour patriotism, teamwork, enhancement of physical fitness, ingrained loyalty to the country and availability of trained personnel to boost national security in times of external threats, internal threats and natural disasters can apply through Agneepath Yojna to become Agniveers.

Agneepath Yojna Salary

Agniveers will be given an attractive customised monthly package along with Risk and Hardship allowances as applicable in the three services. On completion of their engagement period of 4 years, Agniveers will be paid one time ‘Seva Nidhi’ package of Rs 11.71 Lakh which shall comprise their contribution including accrued interest thereon and matching contribution from the Government equal to the accumulated amount of their contribution including interest as indicated below. The salary for Agniveers in the 1st year will be around Rs. 4.76 lakh per annum which increases to Rs. 6.92 lakh per annum for the final year. Check monthly package, in-hand salary, contribution to Agniveer Corpus Fund and corpus fund by GoI from below tabular data. 

The ‘Seva Nidhi’ will be exempt from Income Tax.

How to Apply for Agniveers Agnipath Scheme 2022?

All the aspirants who are waiting for the announcement of the publishing of the link for the application form of www.mod.gov.in Scheme. They have to wait a little bit as the authority has not published any link for the same on the official portal. Many candidates are willing to appear in the recruitment process, before applying for the recruitment. All the candidates must go through the instructions set by the authority. One who is eligible to apply for the post can fill out the form, here is the full procedure to do so.

  1. To apply for the Agniveers Agnipath Scheme, you have to first visit the official portal of the Ministry of Defence i.e. www.mod.gov.in
  2. After visiting the official portal, you will be landed on the main page of the site and there you have to search for the Agnipath application link. Which will be available under the What’s a new section.
  3. After you find the link just click on that link and then you will be taken to the new page, and there the application form will appear before you.
  4. After the application form is open then you should start filling out the application form for the recruitment.
  5. Fill out all the completed details in the form, and then upload all the scanned documents with the application form.
  6. After uploading the documents with the form then pay the fee for the same and then previews the whole application form.
  7. After reviewing the application form, click on the submit option, and your information will be recorded.
  8. By following the above-mentioned procedure you will be able to apply for the Agniveers Agnipath scheme application form.

Agneepath Scheme Terms & Conditions

Under the AGNIPATH scheme, the Agniveers will be enrolled in the Forces under respective Service Acts for a period of four years. They would form a distinct rank in the Armed Forces, different from any other existing ranks.

Upon the completion of four years of service, based on organisational requirement and policies promulgated by the Armed Forces from time-to-time, Agniveers will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment in the Armed Forces.

These applications will be considered in a centralised manner based on objective criteria including performance during their four-year engagement period and up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers will be enrolled in regular cadre of the Armed Forces. Detailed guidelines will be issued separately.

The selection will be the exclusive jurisdiction of the Armed Forces. 46,000 Agniveers will be recruited this year.

Enrolment will be undertaken through an online centralised system for all three services with specialised rallies and campus interviews from recognised technical institutes such as Industrial Training Institutes and National Skills Qualifications Framework, among others.

Enrolment will be based on ‘All India All Class’ basis and the eligible age will be in range from 17.5 to 21 years. Agniveers will meet the medical eligibility conditions laid down for enrolment in the armed forces as applicable to respective categories/trades.

The educational qualification for Agniveers will remain as in vogue for enrollment in various categories. {For example: For entry into General Duty (GD) soldier, the educational qualification is Class 10).
